How to Replace a Bad Chain Saw Link

Prior to employing a chain saw, it’s imperative that you give the machine a thorough examination each and every opportunity to search for components that are missing, broken or malfunctioning. Avoid using the machine before you can replace the connection when you detect that among the links of this chain saw is broken. With a chain saw with a string connection that is faulty poses a serious risk to your security and also to that of anyone nearby.

Remove from the plug to ensure the chain saw can’t start suddenly.

So that the string has lots of idle whilst on the blade, loosen the chain saw adjustment screw. Remove the bolts which attach the blade into the machine. Pull the blade out of the machine and remove the string from the blade.

Add the link of this chain into the open space of this chain-breaking tool. Align the rivet of this connection with the hole at the bottom of this chain-breaking tool and the anvil over it. Press down on the handle of this tool that is chain-breaking till it strikes on the rivet out of this hyperlink. Perform the action. Remove the connection and discard it.

Connect the substitute link into the string at which you removed the link, making sure that the rivets are via the holes in either side of the connection. Turn the spinner handle clockwise whilst turning the thrust handle from the opposite direction or holding it steady. As you do so, the system will compress the rivet to create. Turn the handles in the directions when finished forming the head to publish the string. Drape the chain around the chain saw bar. Reinstall the bar. The tension-adjustment screw so the string is properly adjusted on the bar. Pull up on the string in the middle of the guide bar and see that it pops back into position. Ensure that the chain doesn’t sag beneath the bar. Reattach the spark plug wire.
